Hauler Connect ("Hauler Connect," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by the National Dump Trucking Association (NDTA). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit haulerconnect.org, use our web or mobile applications, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").

This Policy is designed for users in the United States and is intended to comply with applicable U.S. federal and state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CCPA/CPRA") and similar state privacy laws.

We use your compliance wallet and related professional data to match you with contractors and job opportunities.

3. Information We Collect

We collect personal information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with you. The categories below align with U.S. state privacy notice requirements:

Identifiers

Name, email address, phone number, postal address, account username, IP address, device identifiers, and similar contact or online identifiers.

Commercial and professional information

Company name, role (hauler, contractor, seller, dispatcher), tax identification where provided, subscription and purchase history, insurance details, CDL and other licenses, DOT/compliance documents, certifications, and records in your compliance wallet.

Financial information

Payment card or bank details processed by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe); we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Internet or network activity

Browser type, pages viewed, referring URLs, feature usage, log data, and interactions with emails or push notifications.

Geolocation data

Approximate or precise location when you enable location-based features or when inferred from IP address for security and service delivery.

Communications

Messages you send through the platform, support tickets, and related correspondence.

Inferences

Preferences or matching signals derived from your profile, compliance status, and platform activity to improve job matching.

Sources: information you provide directly; information from other users (e.g., contractors viewing compliance profiles); automatically collected data via cookies and similar technologies; and service providers (payment, analytics, hosting).

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services, including accounts, job matching, and compliance tools
  • Verify professional qualifications and share relevant compliance information with contractors as part of the Services
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and invoices
  • Communicate about your account, jobs, security alerts, and (where permitted) marketing
  • Improve, debug, and develop features; perform analytics
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect our rights and users

5. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Other platform users: contractors and related parties may see compliance and professional profile information needed for job matching
  • Service providers: hosting, payment processing (e.g., Stripe), analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), email/SMS, and support tools under contractual confidentiality obligations
  • Affiliates: NDTA and related entities supporting Hauler Connect operations
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or security
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets
  • With your direction or consent

6. Sale, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information for money. We may use cookies and analytics tools that some state laws treat as a "sale" or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may opt out of such sale/sharing or targeted advertising as described in Section 8 and our Cookie Policy.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

8. Your U.S. Privacy Rights

  • Correct: request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Delete: request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions
  • Data portability: obtain a portable copy of certain information
  • Opt out of sale / sharing / targeted advertising: as defined under applicable state law

  • Appeal: appeal our decision if we deny your request (where required by state law)

California "Shine the Light": California residents may request information about our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing without consent.

Do Not Sell or Share / Opt Out of Targeted Advertising: submit a request to the same contact methods, or adjust cookie/analytics controls as described in the Cookie Policy. We honor browser-based opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) where required by law, to the extent technically feasible.

9. Sensitive Personal Information

Depending on how you use the Services, we may process information that some laws treat as sensitive (e.g., government identifiers in licenses, precise geolocation, or account login credentials). We use this information as reasonably necessary to provide the Services you request (compliance verification, security, and job matching), and not for unexpected secondary purposes.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements (including transportation/compliance recordkeeping where applicable). When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information in accordance with our retention practices.

11. Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children's Privacy

The Services are for adults and business users age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. U.S. Focus and Cross-Border Processing

Hauler Connect is operated from the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy, except where additional consent is required by law.
